I now have 167 hours invested into the project which is interesting because I did 80 in the first year, too. I am going to need to pick up the pace if this thing is going to be finished while fossil fuels are still available! <\/p>\n<p>I really thought I&#8217;d be well into the fuselage by now but the list of completed parts now reads:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>rudder<\/li>\n<li>slats<\/li>\n<li>flaperons<\/li>\n<li>horizontal stabaliser<\/li>\n<li>horizontal tail<\/li>\n<li>left wing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And the right wing is about 50% done, I&#8217;d say. Needs the fuel tank installed and the wing tip lights assembled before I can seal it up.<\/p>\n<p>The current plan is to get on a waiting list for the hangar at the airport in a month or so. I am told it could be anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months to get a space. The ideal timing would be to get in and order the fuselage kit just in time for it to arrive when the weather starts to cool down. Last I looked there were 11 people on the list but I am told that most, if not all, of them will decline the invitation when it comes.<\/p>\n<p>There are definitely a lot of highs and lows on this project but generally I am really enjoying the build process and am missing it while I sit out these horrible hot days.
