The stabiliser assembly had been teasing me for a couple of weeks sat on the bench waiting for the skin but a couple of busy weekends left me unable or unwilling to get into the garage.
We start with the bottom skin this time because of the protrusions that would make us unable to put the spar flat on the bench. And to make sure everything was flat I put the beams down and used a couple of shims to get it as level as I could: the digital level was a great buy.
When everything was level I placed the skin over the assembly and cleco’d everything into place.
Added some rivets to the empty holes for the first pass.
After riveting those I took out the clecos and riveted the remaining holes so that the bottom skin was complete.
I then turned the whole thing over (which turned out to be quite tricky on my own with so many things around me) in preparation for riveting the top skin.
