Prime and Paint (1 hr)

As previously advertised, I spent some time priming and painting some of the steel parts. I picked out just the few that I wanted to install sooner rather than later.

For priming I used a self-etching primer and applied a couple of coats.

When everything had been dry for the stated minimum length of time, I applied the top coat which is a specialty enamel paint from PTI meeting some federal standard for something. I chose Santa Fe Red which is a bit more “wine” than I was expecting but the more it dries the more I think it is going to look good.

Well, that’s all I got done this weekend. Painting the parts is a lot more work than I was expecting (I’ve heard that before) so not sure if I will do some more or wait a while. And maybe next weekend I’ll get to try some polishing.
