We started off our Flaperons build with removing the component parts from the crate and moving them to the garage. They posed for a picture. As with the slats, the flaperons come in four pieces, two per side.

Identifying which skin is which, and which spars go with which skin, looked a bit complicated and fortunately the DVD went to some length to explain how to do this. Using its information I labelled all the pieces as to whether they were inboard or outboard, pilot side or passenger side.
Once marked, I cleco’d the rear ribs and nose ribs to the appropriate place in the spar. Each spar has 4 ribs, and two of the ribs have nose ribs. There are specific instructions as to the orientation of the flanges in each spar. It was getting dark so that was it for the day, a very good day.
