Like many other days this one started out with deburring and priming the flaperon skin, spar and ribs. While the primer was drying I revisited the remaining 4 hinge brackets that were yet to have a corner removed. Now that I had a vise this was quite a bit easier to do with the hacksaw.
Following that, yesterday’s process was repeated by first clecoing the top skin in place and riveting.
We also repeated our method of folding the nose skin over and I felt it was less successful this time and I think for the next flaperon we will try the wood and ratchet method. I suspect if we measure the width of our flaperons one end is a mm or two larger than the other. I think the difference is well within tolerances.
The pilot/left side outboard flaperon is now complete, all bar the tip. The final two flaperons still need some work on the spar before we get to the skins.
