More Engine Stuff

My battery charger finally arrived so I was quick to take it to the hangar and get the battery charged.

Since it would take a while to charge, I worked on the throttle cables, making sure they hit the stops. We took them apart and tightened the wires so that we could get full idle and full throttle. A couple of problems though. First the fancy firewall pass through I bought isn’t quite tight enough on the cable so the whole thing is moving, not just the internal wire. I plan to use the silicone on that later. Second, We discovered that the throttle attachment has a fancy washer with a shoulder on it, and I still haven’t found that so before all is said and done, I need to replace that. Otherwise when the wire is pulled it bunches up rather than rotates in the bolt.

While doing this Allen noticed that one of the ignition wires had come out of the flat pin connector inside the mags. Given that the connector is locked in place this presented a bit of a problem. In the end we had to take the mag assembly off the engine and I was able to push it out with a punch. There were a couple of spares left so we had another go at crimping and replaced everything.

Also spent some time bundling up wires.
