Instrument Panel Purchased!

Today I took a drive up to MGL Avionics in Torrence to meet with them for some demos and to generally find out about panels.

Went to MGL Avionics to buy a Panel for the plane

After a very useful time with Matt, including a demo and a look at some very nice looking experimentals in the hangar, I walked out the door with a sales order, shipping tomorrow!

  • Explorer-Lite 8.5″ Touchscreen EFIS
  • SP-6 Advanced Magnetometer Sensor (Compass)
  • RDAC for a Rotax 912 ULS
  • FT-60 Red Cube Fuel Flow Transducer
  • MGL V6 VHF Radio Transceiver
  • STX 165R Sandia Remote Mode-C Transceiver
  • pre-wired harnesses for all of the above

What I need to do next is work out what I want for a switches/power bus and if I want any analogue guages (right now I don’t). After that I’ll get in touch with a panel cutter to schedule that.

This Lite EFIS is really quite something, most everything already inside, no need for remote modules to install. I really do believe you could install it in a day with everything handy.

At some point post-first flight I’ll add the NavWork ADS-B remote transceiver – unbelievable at $1150, a fraction of something similar for a TSO’d aircraft.

Ah yes, the question you are all asking – $7047. For all of that.
