I’ve used the “how to” DVDs that are for sale online quite a bit but that usually entails watching it in the house, then running outside to check on something, rinse and repeat. So I bought a portable DVD player from CostCo that I can put in the garage so I can watch as I go along.
The day started out by continuing with the passenger-side outboard skin, riveting the hinge bracket to the spar. The holes for the top side of the spar and ribs were then created by drilling through the pre-drilled holes in the skin, opening up to an A4 rivet size. Measured and drilled the rib angle to fit against the spar and full rib, then drilled every remaining hole to size 30. Disassembled, debugged and primed.
While the primer was drying I got the hinge brackets out for the left inboard flaperon and riveted them to the spar.
Once the primer was dry I riveted the top skin to the spar and ribs.
