Day 42: Stabiliser Complete (45m)

All that remained at this point was to fold the top skin over and rivet into the pre-drilled holes. I used the ratchet straps again to bring the skin over so that it wouldn’t bend or crease and cleco’d the skin in place starting at the back and working forwards. Here’s a picture of the stabiliser ready for the first pass of riveting.

And after the second pass the stabiliser was complete.

Next up: the elevator part of the tail. This looks like it has some intricacy to it, not to mention our first electrical moving part: the trim tab servo.

In the meantime I am looking ahead and while I think I have decided on the wings next, the fuselage is still nagging at the back of my mind. Plenty of time to decide, a trip to Europe in the summer means I am not looking to receive my next kit before July.
