At the end of yesterday’s post I mentioned that the seat bases were just too wide to fit inside the joined fuselage, but were fine when the two parts were unattached.
Well I had planned to spend some time today deburring the forward cabin but got obsessed with the seat bases instead. I did take the forward cabin apart but then clecoed the gear channel to the rear fuselage and looked at attaching the seat bases. They certainly don’t want to fit but there is some flex in side channels that run vertically and if you pull on one it will give enough to slide the seat base in place.
I then put the cabin sides on and found that the seat base pushes the bottom of the cabin side out a little bit but with a little encouragement I could push it enough to get a cleco in.
I’m pretty happy that it does all fit together though it may be quite tough to get it back in when the sides are riveted. For now though it is back to deburring and then riveting most of the forward cabin together ready for proper joining.
